Women in Business is dedicated to advancing the growth of female-owned and female-driven businesses. We aim to ensure they have the right financial products and services, delivered in a way that is accessible, appealing and supportive.
Our activities actively support women entrepreneurs by providing information, sponsorships, access to networks and new opportunities that encourage business growth.
Our influence and our work help to create a banking environment that welcomes female entrepreneurship and promotes the advancement of female talent.
A new Agenda
Bank of Scotland Corporate appointed its dedicated Women in Business team in 2003 – the first UK bank to do so. The team has since driven a unique initiative, dedicated to encouraging women to start and grow their own businesses.
Today, the team has a broader agenda – driving the voice of entrepreneurship for women in the UK, and working to create a business landscape that encourages female success.
In October 2007, the initiative was relaunched as Women in Business, reflecting the commitment across HBOS Group to women in the UK, and not just those already in business. We've established a new Women's Enterpreneurship Forum demonstrating thought leadership for the growing female market in the UK, and we continue to host and sponsor events at a local level. These provide networking and business development opportunities that can be of real value to women in their business or personal development.
