2008 British Venture Capital Association Women's Breakfasts
HBOS Women and Stargate Capital Management (fund manager of Trapezia, the first venture capital fund that backs women entrepreneurs) are delighted to sponsor the 2008 British Venture Capital Association Women's Breakfasts.
The pool of capital to support new ventures has increased significantly since the 1980's but the flow of venture capital to women-focused businesses has been low compared to the number of such businesses and their force in the economy. Currently only 2.5% of venture capital is invested in women entrepreneurs.
The BVCA women's breakfasts will bring together entrepreneurs, investors and practitioners as well as representatives from Bank of Scotland Corporate and Stargate, to share their insights and expertise with guests.
The first event is scheduled for March with a second to follow in October and are being held in The Private Room at The Ivy Restaurant in London. Previous speakers have included Nicola Horlick, Michelle Mone, Patience Wheatcroft and Baroness Bottomley.
