Help when you need it

We appreciate how important it is in a business environment for you to have accurate, up-to-date information at your fingertips, and we understand how frustrating it can be when you have a problem.

With this in mind, we've made Corporate Online as easy to use as possible. We've also built a comprehensive support package to ensure that you receive help when you need it.

  • There are on-screen instructions and help available on the screens you're using.
  • Once registered, our specifically designed training package will perfectly simulate the appearance and functionality of our live application – it provides tutorials for you to choose from and it will even allow a "Free Play" mode which enables you to navigate round the simulation as if you are using the live application.
  • The FAQs listed below are a useful resource for finding quick answers.
  • You can email us using the 'Help Me' link available on the right hand side of each page or by emailing cibhelpdesk@bankofscotland.co.uk and we'll get back to you as soon as possible.
  • Alternatively you can call our Helpdesk on 0845 300 6444†, which is available from 7:30am to 6:30pm, Monday to Friday.

Is Corporate Online secure?
We understand how important security is to you and we are committed to providing you with the highest level of security possible. We have joined forces with leading international solution providers to provide an IdenTrust compliant security infrastructure. IdenTrust is a global organisation of approved financial institutions, establishing the identities of their corporate customers and certifying them as trusted trading partners on the Internet. The rigorous controls applied by IdenTrust to operating infrastructures ensure extremely high levels of security in trading over the Internet. Individual users are provided with Smartcards that, in conjunction with a PIN, are used for Login and authorising instructions. This provides a quick and simple, yet highly secure method of access. A secure audit log feature allows your system administrators to monitor who is carrying out what actions.

Please note that Smartcards can only be delivered within the UK at present. As they are encryption devices they may be subject to import restrictions in other countries.

We have also worked with RSA Security®, 'the most trusted name in e-security®', to implement RSA SecurID. This features token-based 2 factor security, i.e. something you know, (your username and PIN) and something you have (your RSA SecurID token) with 60 second one time pass-code. As well as strong authentication we have also used 128 BIT 3 DES SSL, multiple firewalls, encrypted databases, physically secure data centres and other security measures that we will not divulge.

Can I access my accounts from anywhere in the world?
Because the new service is browser-based, you can access your accounts from anywhere with access to the Internet.

For optimum performance we recommend Windows 2000 and Windows XP operating systems.

Do I need any special software?
The only special software required by you will be supplied at the point of registration.

Has the Bank taken disaster recovery measures?
Corporate Online operates on a dual leg across both our data centres, which means that live copies of the database are kept in both locations and are constantly updated. This means that, should a component fail, or indeed an entire data centre be lost, you can immediately log back into the alternate data centre at the same page you were viewing when the service was interrupted.
