"What was our idea? Well, if you’ve ever played five-a-side on poor pitches with cold changing rooms and temperamental showers you'll understand why Soccer Village is a winning concept.
"My business partner and I envisaged an up-market five-a-side centre with a synthetic pitch the same as Real Madrid's training ground, stadium seating, sound system, electronic scoring, commentary box and a bar and grill with a view of the pitch.
"The thing was, we had no track record in the leisure industry. Some banks would have got stuck on details but the Bank of Scotland team got excited about the whole business idea and shared our vision. Basically they acted like entrepreneurs rather than conventional bankers. They came up with the £250,000 funding we needed to get our plans
under way and we look forward to inviting their team to our first game!
