Internet Only Accounts
Our Internet Only accounts give you a convenient way for you to manage your savings. We offer an Internet Saver account for new customers looking for a straightforward way to save that gives you the speed and convenience of online access to your money, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
Some customers have a Web Saver account which we offered until September 2011. You can find information about Web Saver accounts below.
Interest for Variable Web Saver Extra
If you are already registered for online banking, from the 'Apply online' section on the 'Your accounts' page, select the new account that you wish to open.
If you are not already registered for online banking you can apply for a new account and register at the same time by visiting the Internet Saver page and selecting Apply.
If you wish to close your variable rate Halifax Web Saver, variable rate Halifax Web Saver Extra or Bank of Scotland Internet Saver, please contact us on 08456 02 00 00. Lines are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
If you would like to close a fixed rate Halifax Web Saver or Internet Saver, please note that conditions apply regarding closing this type of account early. To discuss your options please contact 08456 02 00 00 and one of our advisers will be able to help you. Bank of Scotland Internet Saver accounts can only be closed in branch.

You can set up an internal Standing Order, transfer a payment to another Bank of Scotland account, make a bill payment, pay your Bank of Scotland credit card bill and order travel money all from a Variable Web Saver account.
If your account is a Variable Web Saver Extra you are allowed one withdrawal per anniversary year*. If you make more than one withdrawal a year, or if you close your account having already made a withdrawal that year, you will lose an amount equivalent to 30 days interest on the amount withdrawn or the closing balance.
Please note that any payments made from your Variable Web Saver Extra account, including transfer of interest will be counted as a withdrawal.

*'Anniversary year' means the period of one year from the date the account has been funded as opposed to account opening.
Interest for Variable Web Saver Extra
You are allowed one withdrawal a year without loss of interest. If you make more than one withdrawal per anniversary year*, or you close your account having already made a withdrawal that year, you will lose an amount equivalent to 30 days interest on the amount withdrawn, or the closing balance.

Naming your Web Saver or Internet Saver
You can give your Web Saver a name such as 'holiday' or 'university money', depending on what you're saving for. To do this select the 'Rename account' link, amend the account name and click 'Update'.
