November 2005

« Back

Bank of Scotland Marine Finance has become a silver sponsor of Robert Prentice and Colin Briggs who will be competing in the Woodvale Atlantic Rowing Race starting in La Gomera in just a few weeks’ time.

“Robert is a valued and loyal customer of ours – we would therefore like to offer our support in this way and wish them good luck with this mammoth undertaking,” says Peter Whitehead, Director of Bank of Scotland Marine Finance.

Both Robert – MD of leading River boat operator on the Thames – and Colin – a London taxi driver – are both extremely experienced rowers with winning titles behind their names. Their aim is not only to achieve their personal best, but also to raise money for Move Ahead, a charity for the brain injured and their carers.

Colin will be the oldest person participating in the race this year being sixty years old. The team hopes to cross the Atlantic and reach the finish in Antigua within 60 or 70 days.

“The team at Bank of Scotland Marine Finance has the highest regard for these two courageous men and we’ll be following their progress throughout their voyage,” says Peter.
