Bank of Scotland Marine Finance Re-organises Support Teams

The UK’s leading provider of marine finance, Bank of Scotland Marine Finance recently announced changes to its personnel structure. Specialist teams have been set up within the Southampton office to more fully support its marine company clients and boat buying customers.
Each dealership has always had a dedicated Development Manager to support its business needs, but from May 2005 this Manager will be supported by two specific teams – a Sales Team and a Support Team. The Sales Team will specialise in handling sales enquiries, finance quotations, product information and settlements and the Support Team will deal with the more technical side of the boat purchase such as Conveyancing, Title Issues and Payouts. Effectively the office support team have been separated into two areas of expertise to provide a more effective service.
Peter Whitehead, Director, Marine, Bank of Scotland, outlines the rationale of the change. “Increasingly our customers look to us to provide a service beyond the mere provision of finance. As the process of purchasing a boat gets more complex with more regulations being introduced, so our team members find themselves assisting in a vast number of different ways. To ensure that we provide ‘experts’ in each area, we have set up separate Sales and Support Teams to ensure that our customers – both dealers and boat buyers, get a quality service as quickly and as efficiently as possible. This support will allow our dealers to better serve their customers.”
This change will also allow the six Development Managers to focus on exploring ways to strengthen their existing dealers’ businesses and to introduce new companies to the facilities that Bank of Scotland Marine Finance can offer.
Based in Southampton, Bank of Scotland Marine Finance specialises in supplying finance for the purchase of boats, accessories and marine equipment, making the option of finance an affordable one.
The company is the preferred finance supplier to many marine boat sales companies and also deals direct with boat owners in the leisure marine and commercial marine market.
A team of twenty-three personnel supports client companies and individuals and is on-hand to assist if possible with all aspects of their customers’ boating needs.
