Success On The Water

In a move to strengthen their knowledge of the environment in which they operate, members of Bank of Scotland Marine Finance’s Sales Department recently completed RYA sailing courses. Sarah Berry, Debbie Swann and Jason Ahmet from the new Botley office are now able to fully appreciate the attractions, problems and delights of life on the water.
Sarah points out, 'Because we handle initial enquiries from potential boat buyers we are the first point of contact a customer may have with Bank of Scotland Marine Finance. On behalf of our individual customers we progress their enquiry to a written quote. If the customer is happy with the figures within the quote, we progress their application through all of the necessary stages until a final offer letter is sent out to them. There can be a fair amount of communication with the customer and having completed our courses we all have a lot more in common with our customers and are able to deliver a better, more understanding service to them.'
Adam Marston, Office Manager at Bank of Scotland entirely supports the Bank’s initiative. 'We work in a business sector where people purchase more than a boat – they purchase their passion and it is important that we all have an idea where that passion comes from. Over the coming months other members of my support team will be completing RYA courses to better serve our customers.'
Bank of Scotland has taken part in the Marine Industry Regatta for the last two years and hopes that the new skills acquired by their team members will move them up the fleet in 2007.
