Under 19s Account

If you're aged between 11 and 18 years old, we've made it easy for you to make the most of your money.

Benefits and features:

  • A choice of card. Choice of a Visa debit card, which can be used in shops, online or over the phone and at Cashpoint® machines, or a Cashpoint card which can just be used for taking out cash.

  • Two forms of ID such as your UK birth certificate or passport and one proof of address.
  • If you’re under 16, you’ll also need to bring a parent or guardian and they’ll need to have proof of their ID and address too.

Text Alerts - available to UK personal current account customers aged 16 or over and are sent before 10am UK time, Monday - Friday (excluding Bank Holidays).  If you are aged 11-15 and have an Under 19s Account you can apply for our Weekly Balance Alerts and Overseas Transactions Alerts (just visit your nearest branch with a parent/guardian to register).

AER (Annual Equivalent Rate) - the rate if interest was paid and compounded once a year. Gross rate is the contractual rate of interest payable before the deduction of income tax at the rate specified by law.
