Motor Legal Protection
If you are involved in an accident that is not your fault, you have a legal right to claim back your uninsured losses (losses not covered by your vehicle insurance policy), from the person who caused the accident.
Our legal cover provides:
- Up to £100,000 legal cover
- Replacement vehicle for up to 48 hours
- Compensation assistance for personal injury
- Recovery of your excess if you are not at fault for the accident
- 24 hour emergency claims line, 365 days a year.

RAC Breakdown cover
You never know when a breakdown or an accident could happen. But if it’s ever happened to you, you’ll know just how inconvenient it is. When you get a Halifax Car Insurance quote you can add RAC breakdown cover to your policy.
These range from roadside assistance to help you get going again to more comprehensive options providing cover at home providing you with alternative travel arrangements.

Keycare cover
If you’ve ever lost your keys you’ll know just how much hassle it can cause, you can be locked out of your house and your car. There is a straightforward way to cover yourself and that’s by adding Keycare on to your Halifax Car Insurance policy, from just £14.99 per year.
Keycare is underwritten by Groupama Insurance Company Limited
- Cover if you lock your keys inside your car or your home - so you wont be locked out for long
- A £10 reward for the finder of your keys - paid by Keycare so you’re more likely to get them back
- 24/7 helpline - you can lose your keys at any time, but Keycare’s always there to help
- A hire car or alternative transport if lost keys leave you stranded - keycare can even get you home
