Register for Internet Banking

It's easy to register and takes about 5 minutes to complete.

  • Enter your personal details
    Name, date of birth, postcode and account details for one of your Bank of Scotland accounts.
  • Choose a username and password
    You will need access to a phone and we may need to send you an activation code in the post.
  • Log in to Internet Banking
    Log in using the username and password you’ve chosen.


Please note: To register for Business Internet Banking, please visit the Business Internet Banking website for more information.

For Share Dealing Online, please have your Personal Reference Number (PRN) to hand and go to the Share Dealing online registration.

We’ll ask for your name, date of birth, postcode and account details for one of your Bank of Scotland accounts.

Next you’ll create some login details. You’ll also see our terms and conditions here.

Now we’ll do a quick security check to make sure it’s you. Choose a number for us to call you on.

You’ll get a 4-digit code on your screen. Then we’ll call you on the number you chose.

When you answer the phone, we’ll ask you to read out the code or key it in using the numbers on your phone.

That’s it, you’ve set up your details and now you can log in.

If we need to give you a code to use in our security check, we’ll only show it on your Internet Banking screen or by post if you have specifically requested this. 

Don’t trust anyone who gives you a code over the phone or webchat. Please keep this code private. You'll only get an automated call if you've requested one.
